Frank Cornelissen ‘Susucaru’ Rosato 2024

Frank Cornelissen ‘Susucaru’ Rosato 2024

This is not your average rosé-it’s got a little more depth, a little more attitude, and a whole lot of character.

Sitting somewhere between a dark rosé and a super light, chillable red, it pours with a beautiful deep hue that already hints at its complexity. The nose opens up gradually with layers of ripe red currant and wild strawberry, followed by softer notes of peach, rose petals, and a touch of earthy intrigue-think mushrooms, wet leaves, and a flicker of flint.

On the palate, it’s vibrant and structured. Bright acidity keeps everything fresh and lifted, while flavors of juicy red berries and peach mingle with more savory, autumnal notes like leather and forest floor. The tannins stay low, the body sits comfortably in the middle, and the finish is long, dry, and seriously satisfying.

Made in the spirit of low-intervention winemaking, the grapes are destemmed, gently crushed, and given time on their skins to build texture and express their sense of place. A full malolactic fermentation adds roundness and flow, giving the wine both energy and depth without weighing it down.

The result? A Terre Siciliane Rosato that goes way beyond “just rosé”-complex, food-friendly, and perfect for those who like their wines a little wild, a little earthy, and very drinkable.
