The Breeze is our first 100% Riesling, skin contact pet-nat, and it’s… really good. We’re stoked to have another pet-nat to add to our lineup —especially one that features a single varietal from Zabala, who are growing some of our favorite aromatic grapes in California.
Riesling is normally associated with sticky-sweet wines, but it’s actually one of our favorite grapes. A good bottle of dry Riesling can be transformative, so we’ve been playing around with what a “California Riesling” could taste like.
The Breeze, has a pink-peppercorn nose, with bright and floral undertones. On the nose, there’s an ocean-kissed minerality and on the palate, the fine bubbles are like a serrated knife against a perfectly ripe melon. This is a wine that would be perfect for a spicy bowl of Thai curry. Or, it would be just as good on its own by the pool. Drink cold!
